Practice and Games
Or first practice week is the week of Dec 6th. Players will practice once a week for an hour either on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday. We will practice two weeks then take the week of Christmas off. We will come back the following week and practices until the end of the season. Games will always be on Saturday starting on January 8th. We will have eight games with our season ending on February 26.
With our league players are guaranteed to play at least half of the game. We want to first show and teach of God’s love for the players. Second we teach the game. It’s not about the wins and loses here, it’s about getting better as a player and person of God.

About Upward Basketball
Upward is a different kind of sports league where we strive to ensure that every child, regardless of their ability or skill level, works toward reaching their potential as an athlete, and as a person. By providing a fun sports experience based on healthy competition, Upward Sports Leagues help kids develop skills for the sports arena and values for life. Upward Sports uses the universal language of sports to connect with kids at a critical age and help them discover and build athletic skills, values, self-confidence and a life-long love of the game.
At Upward Sports, families matter. Our Eastland leagues give families all the benefits of participating in team sports while protecting them from hectic travel schedules and the win-at-all costs mentality that burns out young athletes. With just a one-hour practice and one-hour game each week, our leagues conveniently fit into busy family schedules. At practice, players learn the skills necessary to play their sport, learn how to act as a team, and participate in a devotion time that will teach them about God. Throughout the season, all players receive an equal amount of playing time and an equal number of starts. At each game, every player receives a game day star, highlighting an are in which they excelled.
Every child is important and is treated with dignity, care, and concern. Every child is encouraged to reach his or her potential. Every child has the opportunity to play, to achieve, to learn, and to develop.
