Work Camp at Frakes
The Frakes work camp has its base of operations at the original site where Hiram Frakes began Henderson Settlement. Although the Settlement has been able to provide many services to the community, there is still a great deal of need. We are excited that you're considering coming and helping in this very valuable ministry!

In our Online Library you will find documents and information that you'll need to be ready for your visit to Henderson Settlement. We ask that you start with the checklist, and that will guide you through the steps that you need to take to prepare for and organize your trip.

Work Camp at the White Oak Center
In the 1990s, requests for assistance increased in the area around White Oak, Tennessee, because this community has challenges similar to those in the Frakes community. Teams working on homes in the area were at a disadvantage having to travel seventeen miles back to the Settlement for food and lodging.

The White Oak Center opened in the summer of 2001, and since then, during the summer months, many teams have been based out of this facility. Up to 48 people can be housed and fed. Work teams are scheduled through the Work Camp Office at Henderson Settlement, and a project manager is on site at White Oak to assist the teams during working hours.

In our Online Library you will find documents and information that you'll need to be ready for your visit to the White Oak Center. We ask that you start with the checklist, and that will guide you through the steps that you need to take to prepare for and organize your trip.

Connecting with a Life Group

Options for people who were part of Life Groups last fall. Please mark on the back of your Sunday morning Communication Card or email pastor Jeff the option that you are wanting to choose for Life Groups.

1. Stay with your group from last year.

2. Ask to join another existing Life Group. This catalog lists all the Life Groups that are scheduled to re-launch on September 18. The catalog will indicate whether these groups are open or closed. Open Life Groups can potentially add new people to their group.

3. Take part in the launch of a new Life Group.

New to Life Groups? You can ask your friends if they are in a Life Group. If they are in a group already - check to see if there is room for you to join the group.

Liberty School Backpack Program PDF Print E-mail

Liberty Ridge BackpacksLiberty Elementary (Updated Information)
Eastland Church has teamed up with Liberty Elementary to help students in need. Each week we collect food items that are then taken over to Liberty Elementary and put in backpacks for students to take home during the weekend. Pick up a list of items at the Welcome Center. You can also get involved in packing backpacks on Thursday afternoon. The contact information is on the list at the Welcome Center or you can email the Church Office. We currently have 9 families in the program and are ready to expand as needed.  If every one of us bought one item every time we went to the grocery, it would add very little to our bill, but add so much to another family's life.

Volunteer Opportunities
Eastland Church members have a very unique opportunity to serve in ministry and use their gifts or talents at Liberty Ridge. Our residents love to build relationships and are active on a day to day basis through trips, activities or just by simply spending time together.  Because we have such active residents, this means we have plenty of opportunities for serving, whether it is to help with the residents or even help with the facilities.

Gifted Driver?
A truly great way of getting to know our residents and ministering to them in a time of need is to transport them to a doctor’s appointment or drive them out on an important errand. You might even like to simply take them on a ride by the horse farms or drive them on one of our planned trips.

Gifted Provider?
As mentioned earlier, the residents love to meet new people. If you love to build relationships and provide encouragement, support, laughter, friendship or help in general, we invite you to adopt one or more of our residents to spend time with on a regular basis.

Gifted Leader?
Each day our residents participate in several different kinds of activities, including games, crafts, exercise, entertainment, etc. Bingo is an all-time favorite of course, and up-and-coming is Cornhole! If you love leading others in activities, we have opportunities on a daily basis for you to serve in this capacity.

Gifted Fixer?
Liberty Ridge boasts a beautiful mansion style facility and a gorgeous “front porch” garden home neighborhood. The upkeep of our facility and campus is of the utmost importance. If you are gifted at painting, patching, cleaning, repairing or even building, we welcome you to come and work with our maintenance staff. This is a huge ministry to both our staff and residents.

If you are interested in getting involved and becoming apart of the family at Liberty Ridge, please feel free to call 859-543-9449, or email us anytime!
