Church family, Eastland’s goal is to reach the community of Lexington with the message of God's love and forgiveness for everyone! Eastland Church believes in order to grow stronger as Christians, we must show compassion by letting God's love shine in everything we do. That’s why Eastland is very active in the community and in third world missions.
We do a great amount of this work locally through our Family Life Center. It gives us a chance to minister to over 270 children and families each Saturday in January and February through our Upward Program. It allows us to work with over 90 students during the R.A.C.E that our Student Ministry team has once a year, and over 40 teens in our student ministries that meet there each week. It also allows our children’s ministry to meet with some 30 children each week with Veggie Tails Connection and the BLAST.
We also reach out to our adult community with the Day of the Latin Woman. We have hosted this event for three years now, and have had between 800 - 1300 people each of those years. The families come to this event to receive medical checkups and to get help with their documentation. We as a church would not be able to meet this need without this facility. We talk about these things to show how great an investment this building is, and how it is being used to share the love of Christ through these ministries and events.
We believe we have a great opportunity to continue fulfilling God’s plan for our Church by accelerating the debt repayment of this vital building. As you can see from above, this is a great investment in our church and community, and accelerating the debt repayment would allow us to expand our ministries by investing in people, rather than interest payments.
Please join us as we challenge each family to save $200 over the next 8 weeks, and celebrate with us on June 8th with our “Freeing up our Future” day. If you are not able to offer $200, we ask that you give whatever you can, because every little bit helps to pay off the debt. If you can give more, that would also be greatly appreciated.
We have provided you with an envelope that you can download from the web site (www.eastland.org) and print yourself, or you can pick one up at the Welcome Center. This envelope was inspired by our Financial Peace Class, where we learn to use envelopes when we are saving for something important.
