The Centurion Project
100 in Missions in 2009
God is calling Christ Followers at Eastland to move to another level in their walk with Him. We will strive to have 100 people, from this church, experience missions in 2009. A church that is full of Christ Followers who have adopted a missional approach to the world will be an unstoppable force for God. An unstoppable force not only in far off lands, but also in their own home communities. This missions drive will be focused on experiencing God and His call in a way that opens our eyes, hearts, and minds to what He would have us do in this world. We choose to operate, with great urgency, as a rescue team to save souls from darkness.
We will begin this journey in Honduras and the Western United States. We will expand, as God directs, into the far corners of the earth. We will proceed on an adventure-filled and dangerous path of saying “YES” to His Call. This adventure will take tremendous prayer and sacrifice as we collectively move from a “faith from the pews” to a “faith in the streets” mentality. Many will be called to leave the comfort and security of home and depart into the unknown to experience short-term missions. All will be called to be involved through encouragement as well as prayerful, material and financial support. God already has the plan in place to fight for the souls of His Children. We have an opportunity to seize a divine moment, take a step of faith, and meet Him on the field of battle and fight for the heart of our King as His foot soldiers.
This is nothing less than a God-sized task. Should we choose to step, by faith, through the pass, we will see what can happen when God’s children volunteer to leave comfort zones, and satisfaction with the status quo, behind. We will have the chance, as a congregation and as individuals, to move into the glorious unknown that is called walking by faith.
The fields are ripe with harvest, but the workers are few. God is inviting us to be His workers. He has invited us to a banquet and He will use us to invite those who do not yet know Him to that banquet. If we do not answer The Call, to share His Good News of salvation through a relationship with Jesus Christ, there will be empty seats at the table. God is ready to unleash His love, but He needs adventurous souls willing to trust Him enough to show the world who He really is. They will know we are Christians by our love. The days of the spectator have come to an end. God wishes that none perish. You have a chance to change eternity and show light to one who now only knows darkness.

BD Mongolian Grill:
Austin Abney and Dave Sperow will be "Guest Grillers" at BD's Mongolian Grill in Hamburg on Monday, September 22. We will cook your dinner between 5:30 pm and 9:00 pm (fear not, we will be supervised by the real chefs). The restaurant will be donating 10% of the entire restaurant sales (even folks who don't dine there just because of us), during that timeframe, to La Cima. (We also get to put out a tip jar :)
They told us that Monday night is their slow night so we would love to blow the doors off the place.
October 6th, 2008 Max and Erma’s will donate 20% of all checks where the customer turns in an invitation. Please print it out, email it or if you need hard copies, please let me know and I will get some to you. There will also be some available at the Welcome Center at Eastland.
