Make a Difference Through the C.O.R.E Campaig n (Updated)
The month of February marks the eleventh month of Eastland’s C.O.R.E Campaign. C.O.R.E stands for Creating Opportunities, Reaching Everyone. It is a finan cial campaign designed to accomplish two goals.
Goal One: Successfully meet the annual principle and interest payment on the Family Life Center. In 2011, our annual payment on the Family Life Center was $107,000. The Family Life Center is a major asset to the ministry of Eastland. Each year over 200 kids participate in Upward, over 150 adults play in our indoor leagues, our youth and children use the space to grow their faith, and many other ministries use the FLC each year. It truly is a great tool for ministry and your financial investment is an investment in the future of Eastland Church.
Goal Two: Ten percent of what is raised is used to serve the glocal community. Currently, we have supported Liberty Elementary by giving all teachers a $50 gift card and helped students in need. We are striving to use the remainder of the 10% to send an advanced team to the island change of Yap as a way to build a ministry partnership. Your financial contribution is helping fund ministry that is reaching to the “ends of the earth.”
At the eleven month mark, we have currently raised $102,361. Our goal for this one year campaign was $136,000. For all of you that have given to the C.O.R.E Campaign, THANK YOU! Your giving is a making a difference. Time has not expired and we can meet our one year goal.
On February 19, we will be collecting our final quarterly giving for this campaign. Please prayerfully consider how you can be involved.If you would like to make a donation to the campaign, you can designate your check with the word CORE.  The Next FAST is Coming!
Over the last two years, Eastland Church has discovered the power associated with the spiritual discipline of fasting! Jesus makes it
abundantly clear that some things will only ever happen in your life when you pray AND fast.
In 2012, Eastland Church will set aside time for three 7 day fasts:
- Jan 15 - 21. The first fast will begin on January 15, and it will be dedicated to helping you discern the types of changes God wants you to make this year.
- April 1 – 7. The second seven day fast will take place during Holy Week. It will be a time to fast for those in our lives who don’t have a relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Oct. 30 – Nov. 5. The third seven day fast will occur during the week leading up to the elections. This fast will be dedicated to praying for our country and our future leaders.

 2012 Honduras Trip Meeting: Join us Sunday, Nov. 20, to sign up for the 2012 Honduras trip. We will meet in the Fellowship Hall after the 2nd service to discuss trip plans. This is a time for anyone that is remotely interested to ask questions and get more information about this exciting missions opportunity.
A date has been set for the 2012 Honduras trip. It will be March 10-17, 2012. This is also the week of college spring breaks. It is very important that anyone interested in going, email the church office as soon as possible. |

We are in need of individuals or families that would like to "adopt" a shut-in from our congregation. Most of these individuals have been a part of our church family for many years, but are now unable to attend. A visit or phone call on a regular basis would let them know that they are missed and not forgotten.
