// Eastland Church's Senior Pastor Grant Horner
Grant and Erin come to us from the Clairemont Church of God where he has been the senior pastor since September 2003. Prior to that Grant was an Associate Pastor at the Church of the Crossing in Indianapolis, Indiana where he was born and raised. At the age of eight, he placed his faith in Jesus Christ while attending summer camp. He left Indiana in 1992 and headed to California to pursue his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Biblical studies at Azusa Pacific University. While at Azusa, he received and accepted his call to ministry and was encouraged in this calling by his mentor and friend, the late Rev. Bill Bryant. Upon graduating from Azusa, he returned to Indiana to continue his education. He then attended Anderson University’s School of Theology and graduated with his Masters of Divinity degree in 1999. During Seminary, he served as an intern at Park Place Church of God and developed an innovative and successful worship service designed for college students. While there he was also honored with the Academic Excellence and Distinguished Senior Award. He plans on furthering his education and has been accepted to Talbot’s School of Theology Doctor of Ministry program. His doctorate will be in the area of Growing and Multiplying Churches in North America.
Grant has been serving in the ministry since 1998 and has been an ordained minister with the church of God since 1999. Grant was selected by the National office of the Church of God to participate in a coaching initiative to promote health in the local church. He has also served on numerous state boards for the Church of God including being apart of the board of directors for two Church of God retirement homes.
Out of all of his roles, however, he is most proud to be a husband and father. Grant and his wife Erin have been married since 1998. They have two children, a six year-old daughter, Kilee and a four year-old son, Wyatt. Erin is an active part of Grant’s ministry serving on the worship, drama, and children’s ministry teams.
Grant enjoys being active and is currently training for his first half marathon. He has been known to take on an adventure or two, as well. He has ridden his bicycle across the country, kicked a field goal during a time-out at an NFL game, and most recently taken a couple of flight lessons.
Pastor Grant believes that the local church is the hope of the world. He also believes that God is calling each congregation to impact not only its surrounding community, but the world as well.
