Life Groups and Growth Groups

Children’s Ministry Splash Bash - Coming August 1, 5:30 - 7:00pm, kids ages 4 and up will experience a 10 foot waterslide, water games and water fun with a message about keeping our eyes on Jesus. Children need to wear bathing suits or clothes with no snaps, zippers or metal pieces that could get caught in the slide. They will also need to bring a towel. Younger children, with parental supervision, may experience the slide from 5:00 - 5:30 or 7:00 - 7:30!
Youth News (eastlandyouth.org) Wednesday Night - come join us at the church in the student ministries room (APXN) for a great time to eat, play games, hang out, and have great discussions. You wont want to miss it, be there 6-8pm!
Friday July 30 - Who needs sleep? Join us Friday, July 30 at 10:00pm - July 31 8:00am for a youth Lock-In! Its gonna be a great night of snacks, games, movies, and pretty much anything that is awesome! Meet in the student ministry room; bring friends and get ready for a wild night.
Sunday Mornings - All Jr. and Sr. High students please join us for APXN during first service downstairs from 9:30-10:30am. It's a great time, don't miss out!
Eastland Sports Softball: The Morehead Softball Tournament will take place on Saturday, August 21st.
At least 12 teams will take part in a round-robin format, which would guarantee each team 4-5 games. Cost to participate in the tournament is $20/player. Participants can sign up online or at the Welcome Center.
Softball: The Fall season will begin the week of August 23rd. The league consists of a 7 game season (weather permitting). The schedule for the Eastland team will be posted online by Friday, August 20th. Cost to participate is $25. Those interested can sign up and pay online.
Whiffle Ball: The new season of co-ed whiffle ball is now underway. The schedule and team rosters are available online at www.eastland.org.
Community Outreach Liberty Elementary Back to School - August 3-6 Liberty Elementary is asking for volunteers to help stuff back to school packets from 10 am – 5 p.m. Signup for the whole time or just a few hours. This is a great way to get to know the staff at the school. If you're interested please signup at the Welcome Center or contact the church office office@eastland.org.
Elementary Back to School Bash - August 7 - Neighborhood Back-to-School Rallies - For the fifth time, LexLinc and its partners are gearing up to provide school supplies for 8,000 children at almost 20 simultaneous neighborhood rallies. The goal is to help students be prepared for school, and to stress the idea that the neighborhood cares about its children and believes education is important. Eastland will be one of the host sites for the Rally. We will host a mini carnival, provide food and give out backpacks to 300 children. We expect 500 people to be present at our site on August 7. We will need as many people as we can that day from 8:30am to 2pm.
Community Movie Night
August 13th will be our final movie of the summer. Make plans to join us for Community Summer Movie Night on the Lawn. Families can come early, (starting at 7:00) and the kids, 5th grade and under can enjoy playing on the 10 foot waterslide… the movie begins at dark. All Church Potluck Picnic and Special Pool Baptism August 15 at 6:30 pm. Our church will be gathering at the pool just down the road on Star Shoot Road for a fun picnic and special pool baptism. You won't want to miss this exciting evening. If you are interested in being baptized at this service please check the "baptism" box on your Communication Card or contact the church office office@eastland.org and a pastor will contact you this week.
Choir Season Begins
For all of you who are returning to choir and for those of you who would like to join choir, the new choir season is starting soon. If you would like to join the choir or have any questions contact Pastor Rod at 859-263-8917 ext. #13 or email to rod@eastland.org. A couple dates to know about are: Sunday, August 8, 3:00pm – 5:00pm is the first choir rehearsal for the season. Wednesday, August 18, 7:00pm – 8:00pm is the first weekly choir rehearsal.
Wednesday Night Series The Adult Wednesday night Bible study at 7:00 pm in room A-2 will resume on August 18.
Women’s Bible Study
Ladies, please make plans to join us for LifeWay Women’s Living Proof Live with Beth More at Rupp Arena, 432 West Vine Street in Lexington on Friday, August 13 from 7-9:30 pm, and on Saturday, August 14 from 8:30 am until Noon.
